US-based platform Twitter became the first one to lose legal protection in India. From the past months, disagreement between the government of India and the social networking site has magnified.
The social media platform is going to be held responsible for tweets of its users. Before that, it was only treated as a host platform. Its third-party status will be nullified in India. The IT guidelines issued by government of India makes twitter liable for punishment under the country’s law. On the other hand, Twitter has maintained an appropriate stance and is willing to comply with IT rules.
