George Floyd Murder Case: Cop Sentenced

George Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020, sparked a row of protests worldwide. The 46-year-old man got killed in police custody. His family and supporters have requested a maximum penalty.

People from all over the world are still participating in the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. Because of the growing dissent, a former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin got sentenced to 22.5 years in prison.

He is a convict of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter because of his knee pressing against the victim’s neck. Floyd’s final words ‘I can’t breathe’, represents the gravity of the crime.
