Bollywood actor Sonu Sood is celebrating his 48th birthday today. The actor who has been a part of films such as Dabangg (2010), Jodhaa Akbar (2008) and Simmba (2018) has now dedicated himself to numerous social causes. Ever since the nationwide lockdown was declared by the union government, the migrants’ crisis unraveled. When migrants were stranded all over the country, Sonu Sood came forward for their help.

What started from the migrants’ crisis, has now become a body of philanthropic works. In 2020, he helped scores of migrants and other needy persons in reaching their homes. Sood’s team diligently reached out to people in distressing times. The actor and philanthropist made sure to provide help to the underprivileged sections of society.

A Glance At The Journey Of Sonu Sood

He was born on 30th July 1973 to Saroj Sood and Shakti Sagar Sood. He was born in Moga, Punjab and raised in Nagpur. Sood has previously worked in Tamil films – Kallazhagar and Nenjinile. He has an appearance in the Tamil film Hands Up! Then, in 2002, Sonu Sood debuted in Bollywood from the movie ‘Shaheed-E-Azam’. He played the role of Bhagat Singh. His breakthrough film was Mani Ratnam’s ‘Yuva’.

The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu tweeted, ‘Happy Birthday, @SonuSood! An inspirational ray of hope for countless citizens, you are indeed a real-life hero. I wish you good health, happiness and success.’

Sonu Sood says, ‘I’m getting calls from different states. There are seven-eight people walking, some are on bicycles, some on bikes, who’re coming all the way to Mumbai on my birthday. Reaching out to people takes a lot of time, getting connected and then drawing an infrastructure which will help them. It’s a big challenge. I’ll make sure it happens no matter how much time it takes.’ He says that his wish is “To have at least 1000-1500 free beds in hospitals, and ten times more scholarships for students by my next birthday.”
