Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir Khan are the IAS toppers of the year 2015. Both of them are now serving as government officials. Dabi secured the first rank in the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations and Athar got the second rank in the exam. The IAS topper couple got married in 2018 in a high-profile wedding.
Dabi hails from New Delhi, she is an alumna of Lady Shri Ram College. She has majored in Political Science, then she cracked the UPSC examinations in her first attempt. Dabi is also the first person belonging to the Dalit category who topped the civil services examination (CSE). Athar Aamir Khan is an IITian and he was training at the Indian Railways Institute of Transport and Management in Lucknow. During the training, he appeared for the civil services examination in 2015. It was his second attempt.

The couple’s relationship and marriage were seen as a leading example of communal peace. Their wedding was attended by the country’s well-known dignitaries such as Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, former Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. Both Tina and Athar were Indian Administrative Service officers of the Rajasthan cadre. However, after the couple filed their divorce application, Athar expressed his desire to shift back to Jammu and Kashmir.
Reportedly, as per a media report, he also went to the Union home ministry’s department of personnel to apply for deputation to the Union Territory cadre. As of now, he is the commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and is also the CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL). Whereas, Tina Dabi is the Joint Secretary Finance (Tax) to the government of Rajasthan.
The duo had filed for divorce before a family court in November 2020 citing mutual consent. Now, the Jaipur Family Court has granted them the same.
