“We thought it would be cool to bring up late ’90s references: Usher, rock with me, I look in the mirror, like “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson—lyrics that paid homage to that time period.”

What BTS Has To Say About ‘Butter’?

Ron Perry who is the co-writer and co-producer of the track states, “When Jenna played me the hook, I had a vision for this song that was Michael Jackson ‘Smooth Criminal’ meets Daft Punk.”

During a press conference in Seoul around the time when the song was released, Park Jimin said, “If you hear the title ‘Butter,’ you know immediately that we tried to prepare a song that’s easy listening, instead of [something with] a really heavy or profound message.”

Jimin adds, “This is a little embarrassing, but it’s something smooth like butter, that really melts into and grabs hold of you. It’s a very cute song, sort of a confession.”

Another BTS member Jungkook says, “‘Butter’ is very simple. It’s getting warmer and will get hotter, and we hope that you can spend a fun summer with BTS.”

Megan Thee Stallion Sought Court Clearance For Releasing ‘Butter Remix’

On Tuesday, the American rapper filed a petition in Harris County, Texas against her record label 1501 Certified Entertainment and its CEO Carl Crawford.  She alleges that the label is preventing her from releasing a remix of ‘Butter’.

Referred by Megan Pete in her legal documents, her petition reads, “If Pete is not allowed to release a new track this Friday on which she is the featured artist in a remix with BTS of the song called, ‘Butter,’ her music career will suffer irreparable damage, including a devastating impact to her relationships with her fans and with other recording artists in the music industry.

Such irreparable injury to her personal goodwill and the silencing of her artistic expression in music cannot be compensated in the way of monetary damages. As such, Pete seeks emergency relief from this Court.”

The filing maintains, “The release of new music from Pete is vital to maintain her status as a relatively new but still up and coming artist. Absent immediate help from the Court, Pete’s art will be impacted, the release of the song derailed, and Pete’s goodwill, reputation, and overall career will suffer detrimental, undesirable, and irreversible harm.”
