The 2021 Met Gala was packed with too many fashion moments, the only Indian to attend the Met Gala : Sudha Reddy made her debut at the Met Gala this year. She was the only one this year to get an invitation from the Met.
The Met Gala witnessed a sea of celebrities dressed in their best. With stars from all over the world gracing the carpet, a stunning debut was made by Sudha Reddy leaving everyone speechless with her look and grace.
- Who is Sudha Reddy?
I am sure you all are curious to know who exactly she is right?
Sudha Reddy is the wife of Hyderabad-based billionaire businessman Megha Krishna Reddy. She made her red carpet debut for the much-awaited fashion night of the year, the MET Gala, in a gown designed by the duo Falguni and Shane Peacock.
Sudha is also the Director of Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL).
Sudha Reddy is a philanthropist. She also has an organisation called the Sudha Reddy Foundation, has socially and economically empowered lakhs of people in Telangana.
Reddy has worked towards affordable healthcare and accessible education in the state and she is well known for her humble and down-to-earth nature.

- How many Indians went to the Met gala?
Several Indian celebrities, such as Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bacchan and Isha Ambani to name a few have witnessed the Met Gala earlier.
However, this year, the only person from our country was Sudha Reddy, she is also the first non-film personality from Hyderabad who had the honour to attend the event.
Reddy was the only Indian to be invited this year to the Global Gift Gala and was nominated for The Global Gift Empowerment Of Women Award.
She has also donated grants to two charities- ‘Action Against Hunger and Fight Hunger Foundation’ and ‘Breast Cancer Research Foundation’ in Paris with Elizabeth Hurley in attendance.

Let’s just unwrap her red carpet look, Sudha glittered in the gorgeous number. According to the designers Falguni And Shane Peacock, the stunning gown took 250 hours to make, and did full justice to Sudha’s dazzling persona.
The gown was full metallic body-hugging and had the hues of the American National flag embroidered over it in sequins and was heavily embellished with gold, red and navy-blue coloured Swarovski crystals, beads and sequins.
For accessories, Sudha went for a custom-made piece of statement ear cuffs by jewellery designer Farah Khan called Dreamy Decadence.
The Hyderabad-based tycoon got her nails done by nail art designer Fluery Rose, who gave her a long metallic gold design that looks spot-on dramatic for the Met Gala 2021 which caught everyone’s attention.

The best part was what she was wearing. Falguni and Shane Peacock said.
“We have created a novel edgy military-inspired look that blends well with the overall theme of the MET Gala.”
“Drawing inspiration from the stars in the American flags that symbolise the 50 glorious independent states of America, I designed a sensual ear cuff with diamond encrusted stars. It is crafted in 18 kt gold with 35 carats of VVS diamonds,” the designer added.

Coming to the insights Sudha shared some behind the stage images of herself getting ready for the Met Gala event over Instagram. Sudha can be seen getting her hair and make-up and nails done for the party in those images.
“It takes an army,” wrote Sudha Reddy while getting ready for the Met Gala.
She also wrote in a post, “Can’t wait to share this masterpiece of Indian craftsmanship with the world,” tagging both the designers Falguni And Shane Peacock.

Speaking about the 2021 Met Gala Sudha shared her experience she said “The Met Gala has been one of the most aspirational landmark events in the world of style, one that is keenly admired by fashion greats. Monday evening’s intimate gathering was special and memorable.
It was an extremely rewarding outing for me as I was able to exchange notes with many notable personalities, some of whom are extremely keen to explore socio-economic welfare campaigns in association with the Sudha Reddy Foundation in the future.
I am extremely humbled and honoured to have received this opportunity to represent my country at this eclectic fashion parade.”
