Paul Rudd gets named the Sexiest Man Alive 2021
Paul Rudd, the 52 year old actor was recently named as the sexiest man alive by People’s magazine. The actor was revealed as this year’s winner on Tuesday night on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Paul’s Wife’s reaction
The actor revealed that when he revealed the news of him winning the title to his wife Julie, she was initially “stupefied” upon hearing the news.
“But you know she was very sweet about it” he added for his wife, Julie.
“After some giggling and shock, she said, ‘oh, they got it right.’ And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say?” said the actor while joking about his selection as the Sexiest man alive 2021.
Paul Rudd has been married to Julie Yaeger for 18 years. The c0uple has 2 children, 17 years old Jack and 12 years old Darby.
“Change in life” post win
Rudd said in an interview that he hopes his life will be changed after receiving the title and that he will be finally invited to “some of those sexy dinners with Clooney and Pitt and B Jordan”.
George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Michael B Jordan are all former receivers of the title.
“And I will probably be on a lot more yachts. I’m excited to expand my yachting life” said the actor jokingly while talking about receiving the title.
All these jokes should not make anyone think that Paul is unaware of the magnitude of the title.
“I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say ‘What?’. This is not false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me” said the actor in an interview.
Jokes aside, the actor is in no mood to turn down the opportunity to be the “Sexiest Man Alive 2021”.
Paul Rudd in an interview to the People’s magazine cover story said that he is going to “lean into it hard” and not try to be or look modest for having been selected for the title.

“But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. That’s why they are my friends,” said Paul Rudd.
Rudd expects his friends to give him a lot of “grief”. But, he will not blame them as he would probably do the same if any of them wins the title.

Paul Rudd is known for starring as the marvel superhero Antman in various movies of the franchise. A role which he is reprising in his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) role of Scott Lang aka Ant-man in the upcoming movie “Ant-man and the Wasp:Quantumania”.
Rudd’s first major breakout performance came in the 1995’s “Clueless”, a cult classic starring Alicia Silverstone. He has also worked in several comedies like “Anchorman”, “The 40 year old virgin” and “This is 40”; a spin off from the comedy “Knocked up”.
The actor before becoming famous as Ant-Man was famous for starring in the hit TV show “Friends”. Paul Rudd played the role of Mike Hannigan, the lover and later husband of the character Phoebe Buffay.
Currently the actor is staring in Apple TV plus series “The Shrink Next Door”, which is set to premiere on November 12. He is also part of and looking forward for the release of “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”.
With the title, Paul has joined the club that includes John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Channing Tatum, and David Beckham.
Earlier, it was rumoured that Chris Evans has been finalized to be bestowed with the title of the Sexiest Man Alive, 2021. However, the jury finally chose the other Marvel actor worthy of the title for this year.
