Questions and answers

When did you find your niche in mom-blogging and what kept you consistent at it?

It took me a while to find my niche. Initially, I struggled to find topics I was comfortable sharing and the ones liked by my audience. I always want some of my content to be helpful and some for entertainment quotients. With the support of my husband, family, friends and my wonderful followers I kept going. In addition, this is something I have come to love – so I can never get bored!

What is your strategy of remaining relevant at all times so as to provide guidance to moms from different walks of their lives in their journey?

I think it is very important to look out for the latest trends on Instagram. One needs to keep in mind many things like festivals, weather, food, etc. Also, you need to be on your toes in creating reels.

What according to you is ‘positive parenting’ and how can one know if they are emulating it?

Positive parenting is an essential part of my parenting. I believe that as adults, we first need to learn how to regulate our own emotions before we expect our kids to regulate theirs. They are just learning from us and the gentler we are, the more they understand the need to be gentle. I would first want to teach my child by example instead of just punishing them over and over again.

Do you believe your experience of training for the Mrs Femina pageant helped you move forward in your journey of becoming an influencer with much more care?

Being part of Mrs. Femina was a blessing. It helped me reach a wider audience. It made me much more confident in speaking on camera. I was not very confident with videos – so that really helped me. It also aided my video editing skills. Overall, it was a great experience.

Often mom bloggers promote a lot of supplements for children on their pages without proper research. What is your take on this issue?

I have promoted a lot of brands in the past (some being in direct competition with one another). I think an influencer should be careful with what they promote. Promote only those products that you genuinely find good to use especially when it comes to children.

What are some of the products that you have tried and swear by for Yedhant and why?

I use a lot of Mother Sparsh products (body wash, shampoo, baby wipes, etc.). For food, I like My Little Moppet. Zayn and Zoey have really nice books for kids.

How has your journey into blogging impacted your relationship with your son?

I think I have begun to understand him much better. I am much more confident at raising him. It also enables me to be much more involved in his life. I am really happy that I took up the decision to become a mom blogger.
