Arjun Kapoor calls age-gap trolls “silly”
Arjun Kapoor in a recent interview spoke about the internet trolling regarding his age gap with his girlfriend Malaika Arora, actress and former VJ.
While calling out the hypocrisy of internet trolls, Arjun Kapoor said it’s a “silly thought process to look at age and contextualise a relationship”.
“Firstly, I think that the media is the one who goes through the comments from people. We don’t even look at 90% of it so the trolling cannot be given so much importance, because it’s all fake. Those same people will be dying to take a selfie with me when they meet me, so you cannot believe that narrative.” added Arjun Kapoor while speaking to a media outlet covering Bollywood.
He further added, “What I do in my personal life is my prerogative. As long as my work is being recognised, the rest is all just a lot of noise. Plus, you can’t be so bothered about whose age is what, so we should just live, let live and move on. I think it’s a silly thought process to look at age and contextualise a relationship.”
Arjuna Kapoor and Malaika Arora
Arjun Kapoor is the son of famous Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor and the step son of Bollywood diva of the 80s and 90s Sridevi. He is also the nephew of Anil Kapoor and the brother of Janhvi Kapoor.
Whereas, Malaika Arora is the ex-wife of Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salman Khan and son of writer Salim Khan. Malaika Arora was married to Arbaaz Khan for almost 2 decades and officially separated in 2017.
Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have been together for past few years. The duo, who were initially tight-lipped about their relationship, has now been out and open.
So obviously, when they started dating, it was bound to be covered by media houses and kept an eye by the fans. However, the internet started trolling them for their age gap of 12 years.
While Arjun Kapoor is 36, Malaika Arora is 48. The duo has often been a victim of trolls due to their 12-year age gap. While the couple usually ignores such trolls but and chooses not to respond to such unruly comments, sometimes they let out their frustration in their interviews.
The couple is often seen leaving for holidays together and their social media accounts are filled with pictures with each other. This year as well Arjun Kapoor, while battling COVID-19, posted on New Years eve a picture of him and Malaika together.
New Year Post
Ever since they have started dating, Arjun and Malaika wish everyone on New Year with their couple photo. As Arjun battles Covid-19, the couple made sure that they send out a joint wish for fans.
Sharing a pout-y click, Arjun wrote, “As the dust settles on 2021 (clearly the virus refuses to so something must) We just wanna wish all of you a happy & very pouty 2022 ahead !!! (sic).”
COVID-19
Arjun Kapoor last week tested positive for COVID-19 along with his sister Anshula. This is the second time he has contracted the deadly virus.
In September, 2020, he had tested positive for COVID-19 along with his girlfriend Malaika Arora.
Omicron Scare
Arjun Kapoor was among several Bollywood celebrities to test positive for COVID-19, at a time when India is seeing a massive surge in infections and a fast spread of the Omicron variant of the virus.
On Monday, television and film producer Ekta Kapoor, actor John Abraham and wife Priya Runchal tested positive. Last month, actors Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amrita Arora, Anil Kapoor’s daughter Rhea Kapoor and husband Karan Boolani tested positive for coronavirus.
