Shramana Gupta: A dream to reality

We all want a life where we can be free and be ourselves and everyone has different ways of accomplishing it. Similarly, I wanted to do something where I can be my own boss so that I don’t have to work under others pressure.

Although I ranked and scored well in college, I was never into academics. I used to bunk college and visit huge markets in Gariahat, Hatibagan. So, I have spent much of my time rambling those markets and have keenly observed the seller’s on how they deal with their customers. That was the time where I started learning. I even made contacts with them and learned many things about raw materials, but could never really work on my own business.

I was living a good life but somewhere not being able to start something of my own made me somber. Then there came a time where covid-19 sacked us, surprisingly it turned out to be a blessing for me because I founded Chandrabali at that time. It was a risky shot as financing my own business was a tough call but I happened to be lucky to have savings.

I finally sighed when I started receiving immense love and encouragement. I am still thankful to every person who shared my products on their stories and to be honest having an upholding family only made everything worth the while. Along the while, I made some questionable decisions when I invested in the wrong products but the faith people had in me helped me keep going. My mother is a pro now in packaging the products and my father handles all details of shipping so we are a family team.

I want to bring the treasure of Indian textiles to my customers and I am planning to get my hands on all kinds of Indian textiles from different parts of the country. My wish is also to get into designing jewelry as daily wearables. I want Chandrabali to be a household name. When you are into business, things tend to get rough. There were times when we did not have good sales but I had promised myself to keep going. There is just one thing that I want to put through with my story. If you have a knack for something, make sure you give it a shot, even if it means risking it all, go for it because living a life with no regrets is always better than living a life with a handful of regrets.
