An intimate wedding
Speculations were surfacing on the internet regarding the couple’s wedding and earlier this January, it came to light that the couple have decided to register their marriage on February 21 at their Mumbai’s residence.
In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Farhan’s father and famous lyricist put a seal on the big news. Opening a little about his son’s marriage, he said, “Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners.” Although the couple had planned to celebrate their big day in a lavish way but the ongoing pandemic has certainly made them change their mind and adding to this concern Javed Akhtar said that they are planning an intimate event in the presence of close friends and family. “Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair. Khair abhi tak to invitations bhi nahi bheje gaye hain.” He also shared his thoughts about her would be daughter-in-law and it seems he is quite impressed. He said, “She is a very nice girl. All of us like her very much. The most important thing is that Farhan and she get along very well, which is great.”
Farhan’s first marriage
Farhan’s marriage with Shibani is going to be his second one. The filmmaker was earlier married to Adhuna Bhabani in 2000 but after sixteen years of togetherness their marriage ended up in divorce in 2017. Farhan is the father of two daughters Shakya and Akira.
His upcoming projects
Farhan has a series of projects lined up his way. Last year, he announced his upcoming film, “Jee le Zaraa” featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Well, he is quite excited about this return to the directorial venture as he posted an announcement video of his film on Instagram and wrote, “Did someone say road trip? Thrilled to announce my next film as director and what better day than 20 years of Dil Chahta Hai to do it. #JeeLeZaraa with @priyankachopra @katrinakaif @aliabhatt will commence filming in 2022 and I cannot wait to get this show on the road.” Fans are quite excited to see him back in action.
