Sweety Shah: From dreaming to Training!

I belong to a very loving family, thus, I never experienced peer pressure. They never forced me to choose a career and I always had one thing in my mind and that was to be productive. Along with that I had a slight interest in news reading so I did a diploma course of mass communication. But, in Ahmedabad, they needed Gujarati news readers and I was good at English and Hindi. So, I shifted my mind from news reading as relocating was not my plan.

Five years ago, I decided to complete my graduation and start something of my own. Initially I was puzzled, I didn’t know where I’d end up but during my graduation I came across ICBI. Their ads really fascinated me and then I ventured the path of becoming an image consultant. So, I went for a trial session and they said that I am already an image consultant. I just need a degree. I can still recall my first client who was a 20 years old girl. She was a singer by profession but acted like a kid. She came up to me because she was receiving only 5000 rupees per hour but others were receiving more pennies. She took a session with me for a month and in that time I evaluated her and eventually filled her gaps. The next time when she performed in front of her Guru, it changed her life. Now she’s receiving 12k per hour. Her mother called me that night to tell me about her success and since then I never ceased to fill gaps in people’s lives.

I am also working on the Gandhi Ashram Project and taking up things one by one. My heart filled with delight when I got featured in page 3 lifestyle magazine of Ahmedabad. Not just that but I have also worked for various organizations including private and government sectors. I am glad that I never stopped working on my dreams because there were days when I wished to be productive and today I am living that wish. From being puzzled to training people and filling their gaps has been a blissful journey. Earlier I believed it’s too late. But, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
