Dr.Shila Dasgupta : A 'Special' Mother

As a young housewife, I devoted myself to taking care of my family and their needs. But deep down, I felt like something was missing in my life. I longed for a purpose that would drive me to do more and make a difference. That’s when I became a mother to a special son, and my world changed forever. My son’s condition was rare, and I was told that he would never be able to lead a normal life. It was a challenging and emotional time for me as we were bound to hospital visits and bone plasters every now and then. But I was determined to do everything in my power to help my child.

I spent countless hours researching his condition, consulting with experts, and exploring different therapies. It wasn’t easy, but I knew that I had to be strong for my son and provide him with the care and support he needed. As he grew up, I saw his struggles and challenges, but I also saw his strength and resilience. He inspired me to keep pushing forward, to never give up hope, and to believe in the power of love and determination.

Amidst everything, I discovered my passion for spirituality and meditation. It was a way for me to find inner peace, connect with my higher self, and focus on my spiritual journey. I devoted myself to the practice of chanting and meditation, and with each session, I felt more at peace with myself and the world around me. I was honoured for my achievements in the spiritual realm, as I set a World record by chanting the Hanuman Chalisa in the shortest time ever recorded. But more than the record, it was my son’s unwavering love and support that made me who I am today.

As a mother to a special child, I have learned to be patient, compassionate, and resilient. My son has taught me that there are no limits to what we can achieve when we believe in ourselves and our abilities. And as I celebrate Mother’s Day, I want to encourage every mother out there to keep fighting for their children’s dreams, to never give up hope, and to always lead with love and determination. Because when we do, we can achieve anything we set our minds to, and we can inspire others to do the same.
