Hardev Opticals: Conquering Defeat

The story of Hardev opticals started when we started our retail business in 2002 and borrowed 80,000 rupees for our first store. Before that, we used to be a supplier of optical products. We both belong from a middle-class family and used to travel for long hours on the bicycle to understand trade and competition in the market.

In 2008 we bought a showroom in the mall on Sohna road, Delhi, with our ex-partners. Unfortunately, the mall didn’t come up as projected, and our ex-partner duped us with 20 lakhs. At that time, we invested all our lifetime savings into that, and we couldn’t sleep for months. At that particular point, someone extremely close gave us this one piece of advice, ” Tu Apne hisse ki imandari rakh Bhagwan Tera sara nuksan bharega.” With God’s grace, all the payments were settled, and we were running in the market again, stronger than before. Someone has rightly said, “Harr kali raat k baad ek ujli subah hoti hai.”

In 2012 We entered in e-Commerce by launching our portal www.hardevopticals.com, and later Brand  EYENA™ by Hardev Opticals was launched in 2015 by the both of us.

In 2017 we were also awarded with Zeiss YOU&EYE Awards.

Today we are the only Ray-Ban certified premium reseller in Gurgaon and are one of the three opticians who started Oakley authentic prescription in India. We are certified opticians with many years of experience in the optometry field.

The lockdown has been a bit harsh on us. Still, we are trying to make up for the losses incurred by giving customers extra service like free pickup and delivery, hygiene and sanitation, whats app buying, cab service for customers who wish to come, shop on-call, etc.

We strongly believe that “Koi kaam chota ya bada nai hota” and to build something, you have to always start from scratch.
