Healing and beyond…

The famous Greek philosopher Plato once claimed, “All learning has an emotional base.” My personal journey with nutrition has very similar roots. At a certain point in my life, I found myself failing in health. As the mother of two little children, I ignored my symptoms for the longest time, finding all possible excuses. I blamed my health on the lack of sleep, stress eating, postpartum depression, overwork, etc. However, ignoring my symptoms did not make things better, in-fact they got to a tipping point. It was at this point, that I decided to take control of my own health. Enough is enough, I pledged! Not only did I need to get better for myself, as well as for my family, I had to root out all these health conditions from their very root. And this began my quest for learning more about natural therapeutic treatment options.

At the onset of my journey, I decided that I will invest enough time and resources to get a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the topic, before I begin to implement my learning. As Buddha taught us “The quieter you become, the more you can hear” – and I did! I completed a one-year   intense course at the largest nutrition school in New York, followed by an extensive and specialized course on gut health nutrition. My focus on gut came from increasing scientific evidence labelling the gut and the microbiome that reside there as the “second brain” of the human body. It has not only been linked to various chronic conditions, but recently also to issues such as anxiety and depression. Another turning point in my learning came when I was selected as the first Indian to study under the most renowned Dr. Terry Wahls. This course gave me extensive knowledge related to autoimmune conditions, hormones, cancer and many other lifestyle related issues. This ongoing quest for knowledge further made me travel the world, to places like USA, Singapore, Dubai, London, as well as parts of India to continue to study more on the topics of lifestyle and nutrition, and their impact on an individual’s health. I also continue to be an affiliate member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

My mission is to provide holistic solutions that allow my patients to take control of their own health and recovery.

During this journey, the emphasis is on an approach that combines the inter-connectedness of the body, mind, and soul along with bringing together the best of eastern and western treatment options. We just don’t want to treat our patients but go beyond and aspire for the kind of healing that allows them to get back to doing things they enjoy. I encourage my patient partners to firmly believe that they are most effective at curing themselves by exploring their body, mind, and spirit. Over time, we want to hand over the reins of their health in their own hands so that they can embark on self-healing.
