Ashish-Memes, Memes, Repeat!

Ashish says, “I loved clicking bad candid pictures of my friend, and I started using them to make memes. This is how my page- @ooye_pagal came into existence. @ooye_pagal is my baby, for the past two years, and when it had reached 1000 followers, I was filled with tears of joy and mirth. I know this sounds a bit cheesy, but that is exactly how my journey as a memer has been. Cheesy.

Managing my career, personal life, and my page has never been easy. I faced a major downfall when my page reached 10k followers. I had started feeling the page was on its threshold, and there was not any growth. To add to it, I had started losing followers and reach. People say that it is easy to be a memer, but let me tell you that it is not. We are competing with millions of other meme pages at the same time, and it’s a rat race. I am very attached to my page, and even the smallest of failures pinches me hard. I had become demotivated when my page had stopped growing. However, during the recession, I started working on my content and started being more consistent. I somehow kept going because more than anything, I live for the smiles that my memes bring on faces. I did not realize that I got so absorbed in making content, and time flew. Today, we are a family of 22k happy faces in our own little space. A lot of TikTok influencers follow my page, along with a few other celebrities. Henceforth, I try to interact with my audience as much as I can so that I can keep up and provide quality content to them.It is a very uncertain world for bloggers, YouTubers, memers, or anyone who creates content online as our lives revolve around numbers, views, and likes. There is instant gratification that we seek online, and it is depressing when we aren’t able to get the numbers we expect. With my story, I want to give a message to all of you reading this. If anything you see brings a smile on your face or inspires you or even brightens your mood, before scrolling or swiping, please appreciate, acknowledge, and reciprocate. We will keep working to the best of our capacity to serve good and wholesome content, but trust me when you all appreciate our work; it makes our day.”
