Rooma Sinha is a travel enthusiast and starting from a coin collection in her childhood with a dream of visiting the origin countries one day, she finally became a travel blogger. It was a dream come true for her. She is a wanderer by heart and soul, and the Musafir in her can’t be contained for long.

Can you tell us about your fondest travel experience?
My best travel experience so far was a trip to the Maldives. This was around 2010 when I didn’t even have a passport but required one within a week to not miss out on the golden opportunity of visiting the Maldives. Somehow, I managed it. The Maldives is gorgeous and should be on everyone’s bucket list for sure, especially if you are a water baby. It’s one of the best places to experience the rich sea life and nature.
Can you talk to us about some things that you learned in MBA and that helped you in your life personally?
MBA was a life-changing experience for me. Before my MBA, my life was constrained within my little bubble. I met people from different strata of life which opened my mind towards changes. I became more accepting and patient. It also taught me the importance of learning throughout life. I believe all of these are very important for your personal and professional growth.
You have been travelling since you were a child. Which place holds the most special memories for you and why?
Travelling is in my genes. My parents are big travel buffs. I still remember our chaar dham yatra when I was 12 years old. Our summer vacations had just started and we had got our new Maruti Van. So, we converted the back seat of our car into a mini room just like a caravan and went for fifteen days trip covering Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamnotri and Gangotri. It was like a roller coaster ride. Our car got stuck in a river, we experienced multiple landslides and also, stayed in a mud house due to sudden rain.
What are some things that a beginner needs to keep in mind before starting his journey in travel vlogging?
According to me, patience and passion are very important if you are trying your hands in this field. Because firstly, it takes time and hard work to create your own space in this field. And secondly making money out of travel blogging shouldn’t be a reason but rather it should be your passion towards travelling and motivating people to travel. You will have to initially take out time from your busy schedule to travel so that you are financially independent but you can pursue it professionally with time.
Can you tell us about your travel podcast on Spotify and the process that went behind recording it?
Explorevio is a digital content creator, who shares the travel experiences of people. They approached me with the idea of a travel podcast that was to be released on Spotify. I instantly agreed as I considered it to be a great opportunity. We recorded few questions related to my travel life and released them on Spotify. You can also check it out.
Coming from a defence background, what has been the importance of discipline and time management in your life?
I believe discipline is a very subjective term. My way of disciplined life might not be the same for others. I am very disciplined when it comes to my work and my health. Also, time management comes with time when you understand the importance of a ticking clock. But what defence taught me for sure was to love my country and save my environment. And I feel it’s very important for everyone to lead a happy life.
What are some essentials that one mustn’t miss out on while travelling to a different country?
It depends on the type of traveller you are. But when you are travelling internationally some must-dos are to protect your passport and visa at all times and keep a photocopy of all the necessary documents handy. Also, I always check the most used currency in the country I am travelling to and exchange it from a local shop near my house to save some bucks. And lastly, carry some packed food in case you don’t like the local food. My attire depends on the country and weather.
