Akshay Kumar Loses His Mother Aruna Bhatia, Pens Heartfelt Note
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar lost his mother, Aruna Bhatia in the early hours of Wednesday. The ‘BellBottom’ actor had previously flown to Mumbai from London to be with his ailing mother.
Akshay Kumar posted a message on his Instagram account a day before his mother passed away. In the post, he expressed appreciation towards his well-wishers.
He writes, “Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough hour for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help.” Sources notified that Akshay’s mother, Aruna Bhatia had been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Hiranandani Hospital.
A media report said, “Akshay’s mother is unwell. She is hospitalised in Mumbai. Akshay had to fly back from the shoot. Even as he has flown back to be with mom, he has told his producers to carry on shooting with scenes that do not require his presence. All other work commitments of his also continue. He has always believed that work must go on, despite any personal challenges.”
The fifty-three-year-old actor shared the news of his mother’s demise on social media platforms. He says, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti”. He added an emoticon with folded hands in his message.
Actors and Filmmakers Pay Their Respects to Akshay Kumar’s Mother
Superstar Salman Khan mourned the loss, as he tweeted, “Dear Akki, very sad to hear of the passing of your mother. May she rest in peace. My deepest condolences to you and your entire family .. @akshaykumar”
Actress and environmentalist, Dia Mirza took to twitter, “Deepest condolences @mrsfunnybones @akshaykumar and family. Our prayers and love to you all in this difficult time.”
Nimrat Kaur writes, “Deepest condolences and my heartfelt prayers to you and the whole family in this grave hour. Satnaam wahe guru @akshaykumar.”
Indian Film director Hansal Mehta also tweeted, “Heartfelt condolences and prayers for strength to your family and you.” So very sorry for your profound loss.”
Another prominent Bollywood personality, Ajay Devgn expressed solidarity as he says, “Dear Akki, Heartfelt condolences on your mother’s passing away. May Arunaji’s soul find eternal peace. Condolences to you & your family. Om Shanti.”
The last rites of Aruna Bhatia were performed at Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai. Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna and his brother-in-law Karan Kapadia arrived at the funeral. Other than them, many Bollywood personalities like Riteish Deshmukh, Rohit Shetty, Ramesh Taurani and Sajid Khan marked their presence at the crematorium.
The actor was quite fond of his mother. The duo shared an unbreakable bond. He also dedicated a note for his mother on the occasion of mother’s day. Akshay Kumar says, “Even in this day and age, you’re the only one whose one hand on my head can comfort me in troubled times because I know there’s nothing I can’t do with your blessings maa.”
Akshay Kumar Attends the Funeral of Aanand L Rai’s Mother
Just hours after the cremation of Akshay’s mother, he went on to offer his condolences to his good friend Aanand L Rai.
Aanand L Rai is an Indian director, who is best known for his movies like ‘Zero’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. His mother passed away today.
A day ago, Akshay was shooting for his upcoming movie ‘Cinderella’ in the UK. It is the remake of a Telugu movie, ‘Rakshasudu’. Other than ‘Cinderella’, he has signed for films such as ‘Bachchan Pandey’ along with Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez, ‘Atrangi Re’ with Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Ram Setu’ and Rohit Shetty’s project ‘Suryavanshi’.
