  • The Girl Who Leapt Through Time:

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a timeless classic. The anime movie follows Konno Makoto, a 17-year-old girl who suddenly finds out she has the ability to reverse time. However, her actions have dire consequences, and Makoto learns this the hard way.

Konno Makoto lives a good life, filled with fun days at school and hanging out with her two best friends, Chiaki and Kousuke. However, she soon discovers her ability to leap back in time. While this power is at first used to save her life, Makoto starts using it to live conveniently. For example, she rewinds time to arrive at school on time, to cheat on tests, and whatnot.

However, when Makoto uses this ability to avoid some of the more personal issues that arise with her friends, this gift starts taking the form of a troublesome burden.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time deals with the complexity of time and the irreversible consequences of not taking it seriously. While it acts as an entertaining coming of age on the surface, this movie will not fail to make you cry once tragedy strikes.

  • Weathering with You:

A runaway boy begins work as a writer for an Occult magazine And meets a girl.

Weathering with You takes place in Japan during a period of rainy weather. Hodaka Morishima, a high-school teenage boy who has run away to Tokyo befriends an orphan girl named Hina Amano, who appears to be able to manipulate the weather.

The characters of Hodaka and Hina have huge depth and are so relatable to real life. The story of a 16 yo high school boy dropping out of society to protect someone he loves, even if that comes with a massive cost, is definitely something worth watching. The idea of something so emotionally strong as this itself hits right in the feels. Words can’t express how splendid the story is for the viewers. Many scenes give goosebumps and tears. This movie gives a mysterious unexplainable feeling, you would absolutely be in love with this masterpiece.

  • Hotarubi no Mori e:

The first sad anime movie is quite famous, so Anime fans must be familiar with this movie. This short anime with a duration of approximately 45 minutes successfully makes your chest tight.

“To the Forest of Firefly Lights” tells the story of a city girl named Takegawa Hotaru and her first love story with a genie-spirit who looks like a human and uses a mask. But there is a problem, which is that humans cannot touch the jinn, or it will be lost forever.

This tragic romantic film shows two human beings who love each other so much, but will never be together because of things that are beyond their control. Their relationship will make you cry bitterly.

  • Your Name:

Because of its beautifully shot production, the animated film “Your Name” has become one of the most famous movies. This movie tells the story of a man who is trapped in the body of another person who must adapt and find each other in order to understand what has happened.

This movie can make you feel as if you’re on a rollercoaster. It’s sweet, funny, and sad enough to make you cry. In an unusual way, two strangers become related. I still feel as if I’m looking for someone or something.

This is about the all-too-human need to find something, anything, or anywhere. The film’s scenery and landscapes transport you to a completely different setting. Anime can be a little slow-moving at times. Stop what you’re doing and go watch it if you haven’t already.

  • A Silent Voice:

The 2016 anime movie A Silent Voice from Kyoto Animation is not a pleasant experience, but that actually works in its favor. This movie does not want you to feel comfortable. It wants you to feel what the characters on the screen are feeling and it does its job thoroughly.

A Silent Voice is about a deaf girl named Shouko who was constantly harassed by her peers in elementary school to the point that she had to transfer schools multiple times. It’s also about Shouya, the boy who bullied Shoko and who later became the target of bullying himself when he turned on his friends.

In his third year of high school, Shouya, haunted by his wrongdoings and regretting his past actions, resolves to go on a journey of redemption. He finds Shouko again and strives to make amends. A Silent Voice is an unsettling and heartbreaking anime movie, but it’s also heartwarming and hopeful. It will put you through a rollercoaster of emotions.

Anime Stories
  • I Want to Eat Your Pancreas:

I Want to Eat Your Pancreas is an anime movie that once again highlights that life is just really *curse word* cruel sometimes. Sakura Yamauchi is determined to live her life to the fullest until the day she finally passes away, and now, she has finally found one more person to share her secret: the aloof boy who does not show any sympathy for her plight. This pair of opposites affect each other in a way never seen before.

I Want to Eat Your Pancreas is a beautiful love story about an anti-social boy who falls in love with his jovial classmate. The tragedy lies in the fact that the girl has pancreatic cancer and does not have long to live. The juxtaposition between a dying girl living her best life and a boy who has long to live but seems dead inside is jarring.

This poignant movie about first love and the uncertainty of life and death is sure to leave your emotions in absolute shambles.

  • Grave of the Fireflies:

Grave of the Fireflies is one of the most heartbreaking anime movies you’ll ever see. Set in the final days of World War II, the film tells the story of a boy named Seita and his younger sister Setsuko, whose lives have been devastated by the cruel and brutal war that’s left them without their parents and their home.

Left to fend for themselves in the Japanese countryside, the siblings’ youthful optimism is blinding in the face of unyielding adversity, giving them the strength to attempt to resist an inevitable fate. Grave of the Fireflies is an achingly depressing, profoundly beautiful, and deeply moving film that will not leave anyone indifferent.
