A Trip to remember - Aparna

I have loved traveling for as long as I can remember. It has always been my drug to escape the world and rejuvenate my entire being. But since I have a full-time job, I only get to travel during the weekends and holidays.

I think when one travels, one learns more about the world, becomes more aware of the various cultures and the art that comes from those cultures, the landscapes, and the wilderness. When I look at the stones, leaves, people, and architecture of new cities or countries, it feels enriched by the stories that hide behind it. Every destination one goes to, has something unique to offer. Wherever we go, becomes a part of us somehow. Traveling becomes a quest on its own when it comes to escaping the monotony of life.

When I look back in life, I see the places that I’ve visited that have left their marks on my heart. And among them, I wish to revisit someday those places that I could never leave behind, like Switzerland and Goa. I will always remember our trip to Switzerland, the dazzling landscapes of lofty snow and the serene beaches of Goa are images never to forget.

Right before the lockdown due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, I made the most memorable trip of my life to Kullu-Manali with my husband. We celebrated his birthday there and then went for the array of sightseeing Manali has to offer. We will never forget the place and the incredible views along with the climate and snowfall.

And hence, to me, to travel is to live.
