The 80-year-old singer is facing serious allegations of sexual abuse by a woman whose initials are JC. She has accused Dylan of abusing her in 1965 when she was a minor. The woman is now 68 years old and she resides in the state of Connecticut. Specifying the time period of abuse, she claims that it took place between April and May in 1965 for almost six weeks.

Bob Dylan Denies the Allegations

The woman alleges that Dylan “exploited his status as a musician to provide [her] with alcohol and drugs and sexually abuse her multiple times”. She further talked about threats of physical violence given to her.

Daniel W. Issac, the lawyer who filed the lawsuit maintains that, “Dylan’s predatory, sexual and unlawful acts against Plaintiff amounted to a series of harmful and offensive contacts to Plaintiff’s person, all of which were done intentionally by him to her without her consent.” Because of the abuse, the plaintiff had suffered both physical and psychological harm which includes, “severe emotional and psychological distress, humiliation, fright, disassociation, anger, depression, anxiety, personal turmoil and loss of faith, a severe shock to her nervous system, physical pain and mental anguish, and emotional and psychological damage.” The accuser also suggests that she have also endured economic losses.

The lawsuit was filed at the New York Supreme Court under the state’s Child Victims Act. It was presented in the ‘look back window’. The first reaction from Bob Dylan came through his spokesperson who says, ‘ the 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.’

Dylan has been awarded numerous accolades such as the Nobel Prize in Literature, the Grammy awards, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Pulitzer Prize.
