Garvit Pandey: Content Creation for a Purpose

It was back in 2016, when, on a Sunday afternoon, I was having lunch in my short baggy pants and one of my friends advised me to audition for the drama. I was a little nervous as I was not prepared. The room was filled with different ages of people who came for an audition. After some effortless toil, I got selected. Slowly and gradually, I understood that this has always been my calling in life.

My day always used to get started with my tuitions and ended with me being in the theatre and practicing my art. Then actually the time came when I bought my first IPhone and started to produce content and videos for the audience. It gave me motivation and confidence to upskill myself. I realized somewhere that people started to like my videos and my content. Be it lip-syncing, creating content on TikTok, or uploading videos on YouTube, I had become unstoppable. Every mark of success felt rewarding as I knew, I had only started.  

However, there were times when not everything was smooth sailing. In 2018, I used to live in Delhi, but I had to get back to my hometown as my mother was a victim of domestic violence. With this, it is impossible to work on my content creation. For a year, we struggled a lot because of my father, but then I helped them to get a new life for my mother and sister. I relocated them to a new house and started all over again. A lot of challenges and roadblocks came along my way but they never deterred my spirit because I knew if it wasn’t this, it wouldn’t be anything else.

Things passed by with me ticking off things on my bucket list one after the other. Life was going good. In 2019, I connected with one of my dearest and oldest friends and he meekly told me something that changed my thought process. I realized that I have a bigger mission to fulfill. People look upto me for inspiration, and as a content creator today I ought to create an impact and change society for the better.
