Kalyan Singh, Former Uttar Pradesh CM, Admitted to ICU

The former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Kalyan Singh is under treatment as of now. On Sunday evening, he was admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow. An official statement from the concerned authorities has confirmed that.

Kalyan Singh Suffers a Heart Attack

Yesterday around 5:30 p.m., the veteran political leader was admitted to the intensive care unit of Critical Care Medicine of the SGPGI. The official statement reads, ‘On his arrival here, his blood pressure and heartbeats were found normal, but the level of unconsciousness was a bit low. Keeping in mind his earlier ailments, he has been admitted to the ICU of the Critical Care Medicine’.

The statement further clarified that a panel of experts are attending the former Rajasthan Governor. This panel is distinctly formed for monitoring his health. It has experts coming from diverse fields like the cardiology, endocrinology, neuro-otology, nephrology and neurology.

Additionally, Mr. Singh was also admitted to the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences. Apparently, he has been unwell for the past two weeks. As per sources, he suffered a minor heart attack on Sunday evening. Post which, he was moved to the ICU of SGPGI. Reportedly, the sudden rise in blood pressure was the cause of heart attack. According to the RMLIMS spokesperson Dr Shrikesh Singh, the veteran BJP leader had developed an inflammation in the parotid gland and was also diagnosed with irregularities in his kidney function.

Well Wishes For the Veteran Politician

Many politicians are wishing for the speedy recovery of the 89-year-old leader. Therefore, the current chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath tweeted, ‘I pray to Lord Ram that he returns to good health soon’. CM Yogi Adityanath, Union defence minister Rajnath Singh and deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad visited Mr. Singh. Even, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a phone call to Kalyan Singh’s son, Rajveer. PM Modi talked to Mr Yogi Adityanath with respect to the treatment of Kalyan Singh.

His blood pressure and pulse are stable and his altered sensorium is being treated by the panel of doctors. More details are awaited.
