Linet Thomas: Connecting strings though music.

Linet Thomas says, “Even though I started my musical journey at the age of 6, it’s when I was 13 that I decided to pursue it as it had become my passion until then. When I was 13, a tragic incident happened in my life.

I had to undergo vein surgery for my right hand. Three veins of my right hand had to be operated on because of an accident. This was when my entire life turned into a nightmare. I was not able to do any movement with my right hand, not even my fingers. As a classical pianist back then, I thought I’d never been able to play the piano again.

6 months passed by, and after constant physiotherapy, I could finally move my fingers back, but I had completely lost touch with the keyboard. It was very challenging for me to play the piano as its keys seemed very heavy. I had felt empty and broken; I had lost my spirit and wanted to give up.

However, music had always meant the world to me, and I would never trade it for anything else in the world, so I decided to give this a last shot. I started from scratch and revised all the notes. It was hard for me as I was on square one. I started trying other instruments along with the piano to get a hold of music again.

Fast forward to now, today at the age of 17 I’m a professional multi-instrumentalist and can play the keyboard, piano, three types of flutes, Ukulele, Guitar, basics of drums, etc. I also have been part of the Guinness World Record for the Largest Indian Cinematic Band, which was curated by Amazon Prime.

I do gigs with a band, have my own YouTube channel with 1.89k subscribers, where I post my music videos. I am looking up to more opportunities ahead, as I’m awaiting the musical journey ahead of me. One thing that I have learned through my experiences is, if life takes away from you something that you had never expected losing, it can also replace that with something that you have never imagined having!”.
