Rajkummar Rao marries girlfriend Patralekha
Rajkummar Rao tied the knots and solemnized his union with his long-time girlfriend Patralekha over the weekend. The marriage was a traditional Indian wedding which lasted over many days.
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha exchanged vows at a seven-star property amid a forest reserve on the outskirts of Chandigarh named Oberoi Sukhvilas yesterday.
Announcing his marriage, Rajkumar shared the images from the ceremony on social media. He wrote, “Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband Patralekhaa. Here’s to forever .. and beyond.”
While sharing pictures on her social media, Patralekha wrote “I got married to my everything today; my boyfriend, my partner in crime, my family, my soulmate…My best friend for the last 11 years! There is no greater feeling than to be your wife!
Here’s to our forever….” While tagging Rajkummar Rao.
11 years relationship
While many people today suffer and are afraid with commitments, Rajkummar and Patralekha have been together for 11 years now. The couple never got disenchanted with success and glamour of Bollywood and held hands throughout all the ups and downs of life.
The duo has shared screen space in the 2014 drama ‘Citylights’, have been dating for a long time were rumoured to tie the knot soon.
Patralekha had talked about her adorable love story to ‘Humans of Bombay’, which had got viral on Facebook. Here’s what she said:
“I saw him for the first time on screen when I watched LSD. I thought that the weird guy he played in the film, was actually what he was like. My perception of him was already tarnished. He told me later, that he had first seen me in an ad and thought, ‘I’m going to marry her.’ It was so ironic!”
The couple later started dating and started living together. The couple finally decided that its about time they should get married.
Marriage
While the couple shared a few pictures on their social media accounts, other pictures were shared by celebrity designer Sabyasachi.
The couple, like many Bollywood stars, turned to Sabyasachi for their wedding outfits. In the pictures shared by the designer’s team on Instagram, he gave a closer look at Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa’s outfits.
For the wedding, Patralekhaa opted for a traditional red buti saree featuring personalised details. She completed her outfit with a matching red veil with a Bengali verse written on it. The words roughly translate to “I surrender all my love to you.”
On the other hand, Rajkummar wore an embroidered ivory jacket with a silk kurta, churidar, pink dupatta and a red turban. He, too, posed alone for a couple of pictures before the couple came together for a romantic shoot. In one of the photos, Patralekhaa and Rajkummar were caught in a candid moment, with her showing a hint of a blush.
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa had a grand engagement party on Saturday. They exchanged rings in the presence of their family and friends in the engagement party.
Rajkummar went down on knees to propose to Patralekaa and in return, his lady love proposed him back. The actor also shared a romantic dance video of the couple as well.
Who is Patralekha?
While everyone knows about the Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, not many know much about his lady love.
Patralekha was born in Shillong, Meghalaya in 1990. She is the daughter of a Chartered Accountant and her father wanted her to pursue a career in the same field, however, Patralekha wanted to be an actress and she moved to Mumbai to join the FTII.
She later worked in a few ads and finally got her break in “Citylights”, a film which was critically acclaimed and liked by the viewers.

Celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Kiara Advani, Dia Mirza congratulated the couple as soon as Rajkumar Rao announced his marriage to Patralekhaa.
