Shilpa Shetty’s Husband, Raj Kundra, is under arrest for pornography creation. The businessman was arrested by the Property Cell of the Mumbai crime branch on Monday. Earlier, in February, an FIR was registered by the Mumbai crime branch. The FIR is connected with the case. After that, nine persons got arrested. According to the police officials, Shilpa Shetty’s husband was named by an accused during an interrogation.
What Led to Arrest?
Hemant Nagrale, who is the Mumbai Police Commissioner, released a statement on Monday. His statement reads, “There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this.” Mr Nagrale further says, “We have sufficient evidence regarding this. The investigation is in progress.”
Raj Kundra is booked for cheating and obscene content. He is booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene ad indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Additionally, he is also booked under some sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Therefore, Kundra is charged under sections of IPC on cheating, indulging in the obscene act in public places and publicly exhibiting or circulating obscene books or literature among others.
Shilpa Shetty’s Husband Faces Backlash
After Kundra was arrested, some Twitter users pointed out his contradictory bio. His Twitter bio reads, ‘Life is about making the right choices’. His bio also has an angel face emoticon with the line. Many Twitter users are criticizing Raj Kundra, citing the bio.
According to a media report, Kundra along with other people is running a porn videos racket. He was the admin of the group. Strategies for tricking women into the pornography racket were discussed in the group.
Kundra can appear in CMM Court (Killa Court), today. Reportedly, he had spent the previous night in custody.
