Vidhi Chheda: My life in fashion.

Vidhi Chheda says, “The whole thing started back when I was in the 8th grade, and my bench partner used to sketch these fashion cartoon figures & somehow, I was always attracted to them.

After my 10th board, I had made up my mind that I wanted to become a fashion designer. Soon after getting into junior college, I started researching top fashion colleges in India, and I came across the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). I knew this is where I exactly belonged. I have always been an average student in school, and clearing the NIFT was quite a task. 

After two years of rigorous dedication, I got into NIFT Mumbai with an All India Rank of 337. That was the beginning of a new life for me. The four years in NIFT changed me as a person completely. I learned to take a stand for myself and started believing more in myself and my dreams. All in all, it was a rollercoaster ride, and then finally, graduation day arrived. I’d never seen my parents so proud & clap for me when my name was announced for the graduation degree. After graduating, I decided to take a break for a couple of months, and this was when I had a strong urge to start my fashion blog. 

However, I took up a job as a Jr. Social Media Associate for a luxury brand to gain industry insights. Soon after, my post-graduation, I finally decided to start blogging. The first few months were quite difficult to blog as I started receiving a lot of hate and criticism online. They said I’m too fat to blog & don’t even look that pretty. But I never let all of those affect my decision of blogging. 

Ignoring all the hate, I continued to do something that I loved, and it’s been two years since I’m blogging part-time. Today we are a strong family of 2700. Though it isn’t a big number, it is something that I have created despite the odds in my life, and I am super proud of it!”.
