Women that Inspire the world!

From centuries women have been treated poorly and backwardly not only by men but also by other women throughout the world. Not until recently women were never given authority even to express themselves. Women were always treated like an object just to serve men. But these prescribed rules have been challenged and changed by many inspiring women who also motivated other women to believe in themselves and introduced Feminism. Because of emerging trends of Feminism, Patriarchy is taking a backstep and women are leading the society in many spheres of life. One of the  such changes can be seen in the entertainment industry as well.

  • SUSHMITA SEN: 

Sushmita Sen is an Indian actress and model. She is the winner of the Miss Universe 1994 pageant and was previously crowned Femina Miss India 1994 at the age of 18. She is the first Indian to win the competition and has since primarily worked in Hindi films.

Sushmita Sen is a role model for many women around the world. She is a strong, independent and intelligent woman who believes in living life on her own terms and conditions. She is dating a guy younger than her which is not so often and against the notion of the indian society. She even adopted children as a single woman and is raising them well which goes against the popular saying that woman always needs a man in her life . The actor has always done what she believes in pushing society’s prescribed rules.

  • PRIYANKA CHOPRA JONAS:

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is an Indian actress, model, and film producer. The winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant, Chopra is one of India’s highest-paid and most popular entertainers. She has received numerous accolades, including two National Film Award and five Filmfare Awards. She is one of the few Indian actress who has a notable career in Hollywood as well.

Chopra has always been vocal about gender equality, the gender pay gap, and feminism. She has always tried to raise awareness about equality of opportunities for both women and men through her interviews, films and her work with UNICEF.

  • DEEPIKA PADUKONE:

 Deepika Padukone is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films. One of the highest-paid actresses in India, her accolades include three Filmfare Awards. She features in listings of the nation’s most popular personalities, and Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018. 

Padukone has been outspoken about wage equality for actresses and made headlines for criticizing the Times of India for objectifying her on social media. She has been a great feminist and always inspired the world by taking stand on what she believes is right and voicing her opinions. She has openly spoken about not only her achievements but also her struggles.

She revealed about her depression and anxiety in public front when mental health is still regarded as taboo in many facets of indian society.

She has important things to say about women — our bodies, our choices, and the ways society treats us — and she says them well. Born to emotionally unavailable parents, she turned her wounds into wisdom. Even after so many hardships she never let the self doubts creep in and always believed in herself. Failed marriages, her complicated relationship with her mother, struggle as being dyslexic for almost 20 years and so on never came in her way and she came out stronger each time motivating thousands of people around her.

  • OPRAH WINFREY:

Oprah Gail Winfrey is an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and philanthropist. She is best known for her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show (1986-2011) which was the highest-rated television program of its kind in history. She was once the world’s only Black billionaire and the greatest Black philanthropist in U.S. 

By 2007, she was sometimes ranked as the most influential woman in the world. Winfrey is a true symbol of feminism.Her accomplishments are an inspiration to women everywhere around the world. Coming from a humble household and becoming the richest African American of the 20th century, Winfrey sets the motivation for women around the globe to break the set stereotypical beliefs of the society.
