Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech blessed with a baby boy
The year 2022 so far has been extraordinary for Indian celebrities. After Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, happiness has knocked the lives of Yuvraj Singh and his wife, Hazel Keech as they have been blessed with a baby boy on Tuesday, January 25. Taking to social media, the couple announced the good news with their fans and well -wishers.
Yuvraj and Keech
The love story of Yuvraj and Keech is one of a roller coaster ride. The first time they met was at a friend’s birthday party in 2011 but it was not one of those typical exchange of hearts. Though the former Indian cricketer made the first move of approaching but received a cold response from Hazel’s side. However, soon after Yuvraj was diagnosed with cancer which certainly prevented him from taking further step towards Keech who was quite reluctant. As fate would have it, they reunited once again on Facebook and sent her a request which she accepted after three months and that’s how he finally earned his first date. He then proposed to her in Bali, “I don’t believe in it. Love at first sight happens when you are 16 or 17 years old. I was extremely anxious before proposing to Keech in Bali. I really don’t think I am good at romance, so I was understandably nervous.” All the wait and the efforts were worth it and the couple tied the knot in November 2016.
Their first child
With the arrival of his first child, Yuvraj seemed to be on cloud nine as he wrote on Instagram, “To all our fans, family and friends, we are elated to share that God blessed us with a baby boy.” Expressing his gratitude he further added, “We thank God for this blessing and wish you to respect our privacy as we welcome the little one into the world, Love Hazel and Yuvraj”
Wishes and blessings poured in
As Yuvraj confirmed the news of welcoming a child there was outpour of love and blessings from celebrities and fans. Sania Mirza shared the joy by dropping hearts in the comment section while Former cricketer and BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly too wished the couple on their new journey. From Bollywood, Preity Zinta offered the congratulations and wrote, “ Congrats Yuvi and Hazel. Sooo happy for u guys”, while Bipasha Basu , Neha Dhupia and Ayushmann Khurana, too congratulated the couple.Taking to Twitter, Harbhajan wrote in Punjabi, “Congratulations to the boy’s father and mother, very happy for you both.” Irfan Pathan also tweeted, “Many congratulations brother. I’m sure you will be an amazing father. Lots of love to the little one. Regards to bhabhi”
Yuvraj’s Career
Yuvraj Singh is one of the gems of Indian cricket. After representing India for 19 years he announced his retirement from all formats of international cricket in 2019.Yuvraj was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup squad. He was also declared ‘Man of the tournament’ in the 2011 World Cup as he scored 362 runs and bagged 15 wickets to his name. Post his retirement he has been been seen playing in different leagues. Last year, the southpaw featured in the Road Safety World Series, where he was a part of the team led by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
Hazel’s Career
Hazel has appeared in Bollywood films like ‘Bodyguard’ starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. She then appeared in the reality TV show ‘Big Boss’ in 2013.
The duo are among a few couples with Bollywood-cricket connections like Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma, KL Rahul-Athiya Shetty, Mohd Azharuddin-Sangeeta Bijlani, MAK Pataudi-Sharmila Tagore, etc.
