Yuvraj Singh hints at coming out of retirement
Yuvraj Singh dropped a bombshell today as he hints at getting back to cricket field.
“God decides your destiny !!On public demand I’ll be back on the pitch hopefully in February ! Ain’t nothing like this feeling ! Thank you for your love and wishes mean a lot to me ! Keep supporting 🇮🇳 it’s our team and a true fan will show his or her support in tough times,” he said while posting an older video of him batting for India.
The star all-rounder of India came out for a press conference and retired his retirement from international cricket in 2019. This was a move that saddened his fanbase all across the world as many believed he still had a lot of talent left in him yet to be explored.
The cricketer was in a bad form and having a tough time to make a comeback but his fans were optimistic about his future.
His fans wished for an iconic farewell for their favourite but it did happen as the cricketer never again donned the blue jersey.
Later, the cricketer announced his retirement from Domestic cricket as well.
The hard-hitting batsmen competed in T20 leagues across the world after getting permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and he also showcased his dangerous skills in the Road Safety T20 series this year.
Late last night came the Instagram post hinting at his comeback to cricket that got his fans excited. However, it still remains unclear whether Yuvraj Singh will be back in international cricket or domestic cricket.
But the news was enough to bring back the optimism back for his fans and all the fans of cricket all around the world, specially India.
Comebacks from retirement
Yuvraj Singh will not be the first cricketer to come out of retirement. This has been done many times before by cricketers of many different countries.
- Kevin Pietersen– The maverick announced his retirement from limited over formats to just focus on test cricket in 2011. However, the cricketer came out of his retirement in a few months and finally retired in 2018.
- Imran Khan– The current PM of Pakistan Imran Khan announced his retirement from international cricket in 1987, only to make a comeback when requested by the then Pakistan President Zia-Ul-Haq. However, post his comeback, the cricketer went onto captain the team that won the 1992 World Cup.
- Shahid Afridi-The list of cricket comebacks cannot be complete without mentioning Shahid Afridi. The cricketer is more famous for his comebacks from retirements than he is for his cricket. The cricketer is often called the greatest all-rounder of the 21st
The all rounder started his retirement saga in 2016 and hasn’t stopped since. He has retired from all formats of cricket and has made his comebacks in all formats of cricket.
The exact number of retirement-comebacks by the cricket are upwards of 7, though no one is sure what is the exact number.

Yuvraj Singh was born in 1981 in Punjab. The Punjabi went onto become a crucial part of the World Cup winning team of India in 2007 (t20i) and 2011 (ODI).
He made his international debut in 2000 against Kenya. The cricketer became a run machine for India in the future. He famously hit 6 sixes in a single over in the 2007 world cup against England’s Stuart Broad.
Shortly after the World Cup victory in 2011, the actor was diagnosed with a rare cancer in between his lungs. The cricketer went to USA for treatment and came back after winning the fight against cancer.
The cricketer has penned his autobiography- “The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back” which released in 2013.
Yuvraj Singh with his mother Shabnam Singh established YouWeCan, an Indian non-profit organization dedicated to fighting cancer, in 2012. The association focuses on four key areas: cancer awareness, screening, treatment support, and survivor empowerment.
